A Bond is the earliest of three huge tobacco bonded warehouses built beside Bristol's Cumberland Basin during the early 20th-century tobacco import boom. Designed by the Docks Committee engineer and erected by William Cowlin and Sons in 1905, the Grade II-listed warehouse was followed by B Bond (1908) and C Bond (1919).
