Built in 1903 as offices for the Scottish Provident insurance company, 25 and 27 Clare Street was designed by Oatley and Lawrence in a confident Edwardian Baroque style. The Grade II-listed corner block in central Bristol is faced in limestone and red granite, with paired Ionic columns and a leaded dome that its listing suggests owes something to Oxford's Radcliffe Camera.
