Built as a branch of the National Provincial Bank, 31 Corn Street has a Portland stone front of 1930 by F.C.R. Palmer, with Corinthian columns, a pediment and the City arms. Behind it survives an earlier banking hall of 1864 by W.B. Gingell, with a coved, gilded ceiling and glazed dome. It is Grade II-listed together with No. 33, in the heart of Bristol's old banking quarter.
