Carlton Chambers on St Stephen's Street was built in 1884 as offices to designs by T. S. Lysaght. The Grade II-listed building has a symmetrical limestone front of three storeys with a yellow-brick double attic, banded pilasters and round-arched doorways with scrolled keystones, a typical piece of late-Victorian commercial architecture in Bristol's old business quarter.
