Completed in 1969 for the Sheldon Bush and Patent Shot Company, this 142-foot reinforced concrete tower on the Floating Harbour dropped molten lead to make shot. It replaced William Watts's Redcliffe tower of 1782, where the shot-tower method began. Its twelve-sided top gives a distinctive outline, and it became Grade II-listed in 1995, one of Bristol's most unusual post-war landmarks.
