Bristol's fish market on Baldwin Street was built in 1873 by Pope and Son, with an arcaded lower range of stilted carriage arches climbing the steep site. W. B. Gingell added the ornate brick-and-stone Baldwin Street front in 1897, with Ionic pilasters, shaped gables and largely original shopfronts. The Grade II-listed building now houses a pub that keeps the Old Fish Market name.
