St George's on Great George Street was built in 1821 to 1823 as a church to designs by Sir Robert Smirke, in the Greek Revival style he championed. After declining congregations it closed as a parish church in 1984 and, following restoration, reopened in 1999 as a full-time concert hall. The building on Brandon Hill in Bristol is Grade II*-listed.
