About this work

The Grosvenor Hotel is a long-derelict landmark on Temple Gate, near Bristol Temple Meads station. Its distinctive curved rear extension dates from the 1930s and forms one of the most recognisable parts of the former hotel. Vacant for many years and damaged by fire, the building is now characterised by boarded-up windows, heavy deterioration and colourful graffiti across its lower levels. The site has been caught up in lengthy legal disputes and regeneration plans, with Bristol City Council pursuing compulsory purchase as part of wider improvements to the Temple Gate area.
