St Mary Redcliffe Church, one of Bristol’s most celebrated medieval landmarks. Located in the Redcliffe area, the church is renowned for its elaborate Gothic architecture, soaring windows, richly decorated stonework and its distinctive 89-metre (292 ft) spire, which dominates the surrounding skyline. Much of the present church was built between the 13th and 15th centuries, largely funded by Bristol’s wealthy merchant community. The building is particularly associated with the Decorated and Perpendicular Gothic styles and includes intricate vaulted ceilings.
