About this work
All Saints’ Church on Corn Street in Bristol’s Old City. Parts of the church date from the 12th century, with substantial additions from the 15th century. Its prominent north-east tower was begun in 1716 by William Paul, completed by George Townesend, and the distinctive domed lantern was rebuilt by Luke Henwood in 1807. The church combines Norman, Perpendicular Gothic and early Georgian architecture and is designated a Grade II* listed building. It has been closed to regular public worship since 1984 and was later used as a diocesan education centre.
