Bristol Central Library on College Green opened in 1906, paid for by a bequest from Vincent Stuckey Lean. Charles Holden's Grade I-listed design blends Tudor Revival and early Modern styles outside, while inside the entrance hall has turquoise glass mosaic vaulting. The Bristol Room keeps an oak overmantel carved by Grinling Gibbons, brought from the old King Street library.
