Known locally as 'Pip 'n' Jay', this Grade II*-listed church near Old Market is recorded from 1174 and was long called the mother church of east Bristol. Parts of the tower and chancel date from at least the 13th century, the tower holds eight bells cast by William Bilbie in 1738, and a Norman font survives. It remains an active parish church, now called Central Church.
