Freemasons' Hall on Park Street was built in 1821 for the Bristol Philosophical Institution, with a classical frieze above the entrance by the sculptor E.H. Baily. The Freemasons bought it in 1871. Badly burnt in the Second World War bombing, it was rebuilt and reopened in 1955, and is now Grade II*-listed and home to the Provincial Grand Lodge of Bristol.
