Built in 1847 as the Anglican church of St Simon the Apostle, this Gothic Revival church on Lower Ashley Road was designed by S. J. Hicks and S. B. Gabriel to serve Baptist Mills. Bristol's Greek and Greek-Cypriot community took it over after the parish merged with St Agnes. Consecrated for Orthodox worship in 1963, it was the first permanent Greek Orthodox church in the West Country.
